## Overview

For anyone who wants to improve their joint health and movement quality using a resistance band, the Mobility Resistance Band - 3-Day Full Body structure adds gentle, targeted tension to mobility work, allowing for a more effective active stretch and a better stimulus for joint stability. This program is ideal for those who find pure bodyweight mobility exercises too easy or who want additional support for proprioceptive re-training.

The 30-minute, 3-day split is structured as Full Body A, B, and C. Session A focuses on Band Pull-Aparts, Banded Hip Flexor Stretch, Banded Clamshells, Banded Side Steps, and Dead Bug. Session B includes the Banded Good Morning, Banded Hip Hinge, Banded Shoulder External Rotation, Banded Thoracic Rotation, and Plank. Session C rounds out with Banded Squats, Banded Glute Bridge, Banded Face Pulls, Banded Pallof Press, and Side Plank.

A resistance band changes the dynamic of mobility work by adding tension throughout the movement. This is particularly effective for hip and shoulder mobility, where the band provides a distraction force—gently pulling the joint apart—while you move through the range of motion. This creates space in the joint that allows for a deeper, more comfortable stretch. The band also provides instant feedback on your body position, making it an excellent tool for learning proper alignment.

Over the eight weeks, you will see improvement in your shoulder stability, hip rotation, and overall movement quality. The bands gently rebuild the strength at the end ranges of your motion, which is where most joint injuries occur. You will feel significantly better in your hips and shoulders, and your athletic performance will improve as a result of your improved movement patterns.

This 8-week block is perfect for the person who is dealing with joint stiffness or mild impingement and wants a gentle, effective, and progressive mobility program.

## FAQ

### What resistance level band should I use for this program?

Start with a light resistance band for most exercises. For the Banded Hip Hinge and Banded Good Morning, you can use a medium band. The goal is to feel the tension of the band adding difficulty to the movement, not to overpower the movement. If you cannot move through the full range of motion because the band is too strong, switch to a lighter one.

### What is joint distraction and why is it beneficial?

Joint distraction is a technique where the band is looped around a joint to gently pull the bones apart while you move. This creates more space in the joint capsule, which decompresses the joint and allows for a deeper range of motion. It is particularly effective for the hip and shoulder, which are the most commonly restricted joints.

### Can I use this program alongside a strength training routine?

Yes, this program is designed to complement strength training. The best time to do your mobility sessions is either after your strength training (as a cool-down) or on rest days. This ensures you are getting the training adaptations from strength work without compromising your mobility work.

### Will band pull-aparts really help with shoulder pain?

Yes, for most common types of shoulder pain (impingement, poor posture). Band pull-aparts strengthen the muscles of the upper back and rear shoulder that are responsible for keeping your shoulder blade in the correct position. When these muscles are strong, the shoulder joint moves more freely and with less pain.

### Who is this structure best for?

This structure is best for the person who has been strength training for a while and has developed mobility restrictions as a result of tight, dense muscles. It is also excellent for office workers with shoulder impingement or hip tightness who are ready to actively address these issues.

### Do I need anything other than the band?

No. One resistance band at a light to medium level is all the equipment you need. For the Banded Pallof Press, you will need to secure the band to a fixed point, like a door handle or a pole. Everything else in the program is performed with just the band and your body.

## Safety notes

Select a light band tension that allows full range of motion without compensation.
